Cadia Systems designed the plant process instrumentation and control philosophy for the
Global Advanced Metals Tantalum Furnace under DRA. This included the necessary safety
and control interlocking, process control sequencing, instrumentation selection and alarm
reporting.

The system included delivery of a direct fired burner system with extractive baghouse and
cyclone for Tantalum sand decomposition.

Due to the presence of Arsenic in volatilised exhaust gases, the system used dilution air to
ultimately cool and precipitate the arsenic for capture by the backhouse before exiting the
systems stack.

Cadia also undertook the commissioning and badging of the appliance and installation of the
gas mains and supply of Notice of Completion statements, including the installation of gas
services piping and gas bullet design layouts to meet statutory standards.
