CADIA SYSTEMS was established in 2016, by original Directors Sean Galvin (Be Hons Mat) and Dene Dethian (Qualified Gas Fitter – type B class). The company was created with the intention of delivering world class engineering solutions primarily to the Gold Mining Industry – with the ability to design, manufacture, install and commission all parts of the desorption, regeneration and goldroom facilities.
Cadia employs a small, highly proficient group of staff across multiple disciplines including Engineers, Draftspersons, Electrical Designers and fabrication welders and fitters. We can execute works that cover scope including mechanical, electrical and structural designs, detailed drafting, OEM equipment fabrication and project delivery and commissioning of OEM projects.
Cadia is discerning in its project work it undertakes with a focus on delivering a quality outcome for projects were we either design or build equipment directly for the projects. Primarily our works are direct client engagement and a select group of EPC engineering with which we partner. Our approach is always collabartive with a view of building a highly successful and quality outcome with our clients.
In 2019 At the Perth World Gold Conference, Cadia announced a collaboration with Gekko Systems to utilise Gekko’s advanced manufacturing facilities and worldwide coverage to deliver Cadia’s OEM designs, as turn key project deliverables for modular elution and regeneration systems world wide.
Smarter Together through Collaboration
Cadia Systems Chief Engineer, Sean Galvin has extensive worldwide experience in the design and commissioning of elution systems, having designed, reviewed and optimised systems for the likes of Agnico Eagle, Metso Minerals, Barrick, Randgold and others.
Cadia’s expertise lies the engineering, manufacture, commissioning of high end performing elution systems.
Gekko Systems is renowned for its innovation in the gold industry with the development of engineering systems like the In-line Pressure Jig, the gravity Intensive Leach Reactor (ILR) and other modular systems, such as the Python. For over 25 years Gekko has been successfully delivering and commissioning plants worldwide.
At the World Gold Conference in Perth in 2019, Cadia and Gekko announced their collaboration to provide the market with turn key modular systems for elution, regeneration and Gold Room, providing the expert knowledge of Cadia with the delivery capability and technical expertise of Gekko Systems
The collaboration sees Cadia provide their OEM equipment and system designs to Gekko’s state-of-the-art Ballarat Manufacturing Facility for construction and integration into the final turn key system.
The result is the highest quality, highest performing systems on the market today, delivered in outstanding times.
Sean Galvin has 20+ years direct experience in mining and manufacturing industries, notably having designed and directly commissioned elution systems worldwide for top 10 tier mining companies. Today, Sean heads up the Cadia Systems group, providing new innovations to the industry with an intension to modernise systems to improve on handling, ergonomics, safety and enhancing recoveries. Sean initially started in Research and Design with pilot scale up of nanotechnology production techniques pioneered by the University of Western Australiás Special Research Centre for Advanced Materials and Minerals Processing. In the mid 2000’s he started and heading up Como Engineers’ Specialist Equipment Division from 2006-2015 and was responsible for the engineering design development and process control, manufacturing and world wide commissioning of their elution systems. This included the first automation of the elution sysystems and the re-design of much of the OEM equipment including Como’s ES series electrowinning cells.
Daniel studied mechanical engineering and has a NZ Certificate of Engineering. He has worked in a diverse array of workspaces and has been active in the design of rock crushing circuits, building management units (complicated electro-mechanical devices for external building access for high rise) and has been instrumental in the product development at Cadia including the aesthetics of the electrowinning and regeneration systems. He is a highly competent CFD programmer and experienced in hands on fabrication and machining techniques. Daniel formerly worked in the Specialist Equipment Division at Como from 2010-2017.
Costa is a capable mechanical and structural draftsman with and Diploma of Mechanical Engineering and a Degree in Industrial Design with 12 years + experience. He has been with Cadia for 5 years and has worked on all OEM equipment designs and project deliveries.
Kristian Bell is responsible for Workshop Management and Installation/Maintenance at sites. Formerly working on projects at Citic Cape Preston for mill installation and Rocla for crushing maintenance, Kristian is also an experienced TIG/MIG welder as well as qualified fitter tradesman. For Cadia, Kristian is responsible for equipment manufacturing and site installation and repair works. Site works include installation of equipment (such as Kirkalocka’s cell installation on behalf of MACA Interquip), ILR maintanence for Gold Fields, Regeneration kiln maintenance and upgrades for Gold Fields and LEV installations for various projects.
